Former Manhattan prep school teacher sues for discrimination

A former teacher a prep school on Manhattan’s Upper West Side has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the school. The lawsuit includes a variety of issues, but generally alleges unlawful discrimination based upon gender and sexual orientation.

New York US Senator proposes paid FMLA leave

A United States senator from New York has introduced a bill to modify how family and medical leave is handled on a national level. The Family and Medical Leave Act has provided eligible workers with job protection for qualifying family and medical reasons when taking leave from work to address the issues.

Women still dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace

In New York, which is known to be a hodgepodge of people and ideas, you wouldn't think that harassment and abuse would be as rampant as it is for women, but according to a report from Dec. 2, it's not unusual. One of the major issues is allegedly sexual harassment, which happens in the workplace, as well as when women are working in the field.
